Data:

  • Serial number 1783 1903 (1903)
  • In mahogany box
  • The handle is detachable and can be stored in the inner cylinder. Wooden (!) threaded.
  • There is no system for mounting the cylinder to the box.
  • The handle also cannot be slid onto a rod.
  • Tables on inner cylinder (Model 1)
  • With English instruction manual for three Fuller models (not dated)
  • Used by technical engineer in Antwerp, Belgium.

Question:

  1. Another known calculating cylinder with a detachable handle is Barnard's Coordinate Spiral Slide Rule 1909 sn23 but are more Fullers with detachable handles?
    These were a standard model from Stanley from about 1901 thru to 1908.

    Some institutions had Fullers with fixed handles and Fullers with detached handles. The cut holes in the side of the small Fuller boxes, to accomodate the longer Fullers. Peter Hopp, Bob de Cesaris
