Otto wondered about the function of the trigonometric scales and the log scale, which don't have a calculation indication in the scale name,
and whether a nomogram calculation is also possible here.
He suggested using a pair of compasses, like on the classic Gunter ruler.
Sin, tg, or log are read off from the d:a or b scales.
This requires a horizontal line, which is automatically obtained if the values on d:a and b are equal.
Otto vroeg zich af wat de functie is van de goniometrische schalen en de log-schaal, die
geen reken-indicatie in de schaalnaam hebben, en of ook hier een nomogram bewerking mogelijk is.
Hij suggereerde het gebruik van een passer, zoals op de klassieke Gunter liniaal.
Sin, tg of log worden afgelezen ten opzichte van de d:a of b schaal.
Daarvoor is een horizontale lijn nodig, die automatisch wordt verkregen als de waarden op d:a én b gelijk zijn.
